At U Academy, we provide high-quality gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, and dance acro preparation programs built on proper technique, safe progressions, and long-term athlete development. Our goal is simple: help athletes build confidence, strength, and skill in a positive environment where learning and fun go hand in hand.

U Academy was founded by David and Carley Ungerecht, who together bring over 35 years of experience across gymnastics, tumbling, dance, and cheerleading. Their shared passion for coaching, education, and athlete development is the foundation of everything we do.

Experience You Can Trust

David began gymnastics at a young age, which naturally evolved into a lifelong coaching career. He has trained district, state, and national champions in Men’s Gymnastics, Women’s Gymnastics, and All-Star Cheer, and is recognized for his vast knowledge for multiple disciplines. Throughout his career, David has developed and managed more than 500 instructors at some of the top gymnastics and cheer facilities in Texas, building strong programs rooted in technical excellence and coach education.

Carley brings extensive experience as both an athlete and coach. She competed in All-Star and collegiate cheerleading and began coaching gymnastics and cheer in 2009. Since 2017, Carley has served as a Cheer Director in Houston, laying the foundation for successful programs, earning NCA titles, and developing confident, well-rounded athletes.

At U Academy, we believe a strong technical foundation is one of the most important part of an athlete’s journey. Whether a child is brand new or already experienced, our programs are designed to meet athletes where they are and guide them forward with intention and care.
